The League of Women Voters of Greater Verde Valley (LWVGVV) is pleased to announce that Laura Vandegrift, owner of Sedona Tours & Guide Services, will present "Women and Wine" at its anniversary brunch on Thursday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Olde Sedona Bar and Grille, 1405 West SR 89A, in West Sedona.
The event celebrates establishment of the national League on Feb. 14, 1920, to give women the right to vote.
Vandegrift's presentation will highlight what's happening in the local wine industry, tour opportunities, food and wine pairings, and more.
She is a long-time Arizona resident and professional tour guide, with a love of history, nature and archeology.
"This is a timely opportunity to learn more about cultural and economic changes in the Verde Valley coming as a result of the expanding wine industry," said Ellie Bauer, LWVGVV President.
In addition to the program, long-term members of the local League will be recognized for 10, 15 and 20 years of membership.
"Our members are the mainstay of the organization; and we appreciate those who support us year in and year out," said Bauer
Local government officials, civic leaders, and interested citizens are all welcome to this annual celebration.
Cost of the brunch is $15, including tax and gratuity.
