Yavapai College Governing Board meets Sept. 10 in Verde Valley
Public invited to ceremony honoring Chuck Mabery

The Yavapai College District Governing Board (DGB) will hold its next monthly public meeting on Tuesday, September 10, 1:30 p.m. at the Verde Valley campus, 601 Black Hills Drive in Clarkdale.

The meeting is open to the public and is expected to run until about 4:45 p.m. Agenda items include an update on the search for a new vice president for instruction and student services, a fall semester enrollment update, a capital improvement report and a report on the College's new "First Year Experience" program, designed to improve student success.

The Board meeting will be followed at 5 p.m. by a public ceremony to honor the late Charles "Chuck" Mabery. The District Governing Board will formally name the campus' distinctive pavilion for Charles "Chuck" Mabery, the long-time local resident who was instrumental in establishing the Verde Valley campus.

The full agenda for the September meeting will be posted online by Sept. 9 at http://www.yc.edu/v4content/governing-board/minutes.htm

CableOne Access 13 records all regular board meetings for subsequent broadcast. The broadcast schedule is available on the Access 13 website at http://www.access13.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=56&Itemid=17&catids=5

The five-member DGB, which is comprised of elected Yavapai County residents from five districts, is responsible for governing on behalf of and is accountable to Yavapai County taxpayers.
