Fish Story
More than 50 people tried their skill in the American Legion Post 93's 31st annual Catfish Contest over the Memorial Day weekend in Camp Verde, but three buddies fishing together blew the competition out of the water. Ian Kelley easily took first place with a 27.5-pound catfish. Travis Van Ellis was second with 19.6 pounds, and Ryan Emory was third with 16.3 pounds. The three said they fished the same hole for the large fish. Competitors were limited to the Verde River and tributaries. Money raised by the event goes to Legion programs. Courtesy photos
