CAPITALISM ENHANCES FREEDOM
Bill Goodykoontz misjudges D'Souza's film "America." Despite the demonization of the far left, D'Souza makes the case that, for all her faults, America has become a beacon of individual freedom.

THE WORLD IS A MESS
President Obama's low job approval rating, 41%, his handling of foreign policy at 37%, and over half believing the president unable to lead the country, was the subject during an ABC interview.

WISHFUL THINKING
Eugene Robinson's (AZ Rep,Opinions, 6/29/14) statement, "...we may be creating terrorists as quickly as we eliminate them" is the typical "Blame America First" response of those who believe terrorists would live and let live if only given the chance.

HOW DARE THEY
Who do they think they are? They presume to know what's best for us and, whether we like it or not, they will shove it down our throats. They turn our own government agencies into weapons against us if we dare to voice our objections, whether on the street corner, the college campus or the voting booth.

DISCONNECTED
President Obama's low job approval rating, 41%, his handling of foreign policy at 37%, and over half believing the president unable to lead the country, was the subject during an ABC interview.

POTHEADS STEALING WATER
Ah, the unintended consequences of pothead agenda. As Uncle Sam shuts down a productive, job producing oyster farm along the West coast for esthetic reasons a new cottage industry has emerged - growing pot for illegal export to states that haven't yet legalized the mind-numbing drug.

DRONING CITIZEN JIHADISTS
When allied troops invaded axis-held Europe during WWII, there were American born Germans and Italians waiting to kill them. Any suggestion that these enemies might have constitutional rights would have been universally ridiculed.

COMEDY CENTRAL
If anyone asked me to describe the Obama administration I would have to say it is a cross between the Keystone Kops and The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight.

REPEATING HISTORY
The recent actions of Vladimir Putin have analysts considering the striking similarities of those actions to Nazi Germany leading up to WWII.

THE DANGER OF ONLINE VOTING
Government's main focus is to promote government. The VA started a program to send special teams of experts to troubled VA hospitals. After a short period the program was ended.

BAD JUDGMENTS
In 2009 4 people died in a "flukish" accident driving a loaner Lexus. Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Ca.) led an attack on Toyota, claiming an electronic bug in the car's system caused runaway vehicles, taking his case to the floor of the House even as evidence piled up that "pedal mis-application" was the real culprit.

THINK AGAIN
Eric Cantor's stunning primary loss in Virginia has liberals giddy and GOP leaders dumbfounded. They shouldn't be. Liberals are shouting that the radicals have taken the Republican Party.

CORRECTING MISTAKES
President Obama, whose stumbling, bumbling foibles in foreign policy have destroyed American credibility in the world while encouraging our opponents, leaving our military leaders scratching their heads and Americans questioning his qualifications, has a unique (if not too late) opportunity to recover some small part of respect.

SCORE ONE FOR BIDEN
Even a broken clock is right twice a day!

HARD CHOICES
On Memorial Day, Americans will show our undying gratitude to our military and veterans who have bled, are bleeding, and will continue to bleed for our country, and then we'll pat ourselves on the back for our patriotism

WAIT A MINUTE!
According to the Wall Street Journal, "There are 1,001,874 miles of roads in the U.S. that receive some federal aid." The Transportation Department says that the Highway Trust Fund, the main source of funds for building and maintaining roads and transit systems, is running out of money and that Congress needs to replenish the account.

DON'T BRAND OTHER VETS
News reports have stated that Army Spc. Ivan Lopez was being treated for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at the time he went on his rampage at Fort Hood, even though his short tour in Afghanistan involved no direct combat experience.

LET CHILDREN BE CHILDREN
Is it any wonder that more and more Americans are turning to charter schools to educate their children? I watched a discussion on a news show concerning a lesson plan presented to fourth graders. The lesson concerned a mom finding a suspicious hairclip under the bed and her agitation while waiting to confront her husband.

OK TO GIVE SYRIAN REBS WEAPONS IF DONE RIGHT
Since the question as to whether or not to arm the Syrian rebels with sophisticated anti-air missiles (MANPADS) is dependent on keeping them out of the hands of al Qaeda, the answer, to me, would seem simple - don't put it them in the hands of the rebels

McSally Ahead of the Curve on Obamacare
J.T. Reid's "Fact Check" conclusion in the Arizona Republic that Martha McSally's depiction of Obamacare as a government takeover is "Misleading" would be more accurate if he described it as "Premature."
