Obituary: Gladys H. Palmer 1923 - 2013

Gladys H. Palmer, a 21 year resident of Cottonwood, passed away 1/31/13.

Born in Endicott, New York the summer of 1923, she was 89 years old.

Gladys was the Daughter of Fred and Grace Gardner.

Gladys went to nursing school in Florida and worked as an LPN in Florida, New York and Arizona.

Gladys was very active member at Mountain View United Methodist Church. She volunteered at the Clemenceau Museum. She was very talented in making crafts and famous for her cookies.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Palmer.

Gladys was the oldest of seven siblings. She was preceded in death by sister Mary Psomas of Arizona, and brothers Richard Gardner and “Louie” Gardner, both of New York State. She is survived by James Gardner & Emily Nechwedowich of Whitney Point, New York and Leona Bentley of Lisle, New York, and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Gladys was affectingly called “AG” by her niece Irene Calhoun and nephews David Calhoun and Nick Psomas of Rimrock. The family is very grateful to Country Care and Verde Valley Community Hospice for taking such good care of her. We will be holding a memorial at the Mountain View United Methodist Church to celebrate her life date not yet set.

I am fortunate to have known Gladys. She was a kind, funny and joyful person. She will be missed greatly. Our loss is The Lords gain.
