The view's not bad either at Hilton's Grille at Shadowrock. But first, on 1st and 3rd Fridays, 5:30-6:30, stop by for complimentary wine tasting. Our friend, Jennifer Yastic, one of the restaurant managers, is usually there to greet us and if the wine is not being poured by a distributor, she takes over.

There is usually a beautiful fruit and cheese platter to nibble on while discussing the wines and mixing with new and old friends. When the tasting is over, we usually stay in the lounge and order from the tapas menu. We recommend the wings, choice of hot and spicy or sweet sour, either way, delicious. The wines featured during the tasting are available at a reduced price.

On a beautiful evening this past month, some of our family joined us for dinner on the patio. Soft summer breezes, people enjoying people, the chef's herb garden and as we said, not a bad view either.

If your family is like ours, no two people have the same food choices. Take that back, Sara and Suzie did choose the special of the evening, Mahi Mahi atop wasabi mashed potatoes accompanied by the best prepared broccolini. Jeff selected the Ahi with saffron risotto.

Chef Salvadore Moscoto was not on the premises to congratulate, but both seafood entrees were designed and prepared expertly. Patrick helped out our server in the "burger contest", that night's deal being a turkey burger topped with Gorgonzola cheese, choice of side and a bar drink or dessert.

Grandson Kendall, to no one's surprise, ordered gourmet mac and cheese. All good.
