Letter: Republicans, Democrats -- they are all politicians

Editor:

Financial and military collapse: Dale Gohr hit the nail on the head. As I just read in the WSJ, corrupt political and legal environments cause under development in poorer countries ... and unfortunately, economic favoritism and cronyism exist in advanced democracies.

Now in response to Mr. Bond’s vitriolic letter a month or so ago, I find it hard to believe he would continue to reside here in the Verde Valley with all of the nasty greedy Republicans he complained about.

Whatever he said about the Republicans is equally true of the Democrats. They are all politicians.  What he and many others don’t seem to realize is that the politicians are merely trying to keep their jobs and thoroughly spending money as long as it’s not theirs.

As more and more small businesses disappear from our valley and your paper is ever full of public notice of home foreclosures and business closings plus higher unemployment claims each week, you can see how Obama is moving us forward as promised to collapse.

The WSJ also touts the fact that the United States is poised to become a global gas superpower. But this story is about to enter a new phase, one in which success will depend on whether and how well the White House prepares the way for exports of America’s energy bounty.

It is interesting to note that Obama has on his desk eight applications from companies wishing to build Liquid Natural Gas distribution centers which would provide thousands of new high-paying jobs and a bonanza of tax money for our national coffers and they have been there waiting for his action for almost a year.

But he was busy campaigning and now that that’s over it’s the gun law controversy. There’s always something that keeps him from creating jobs.

If he had created jobs he could have become the greatest president ever but instead we got Obama Care, a job killer, higher taxes and now he wants unlimited spending authority with a severely diminished military and more social spending.  Yes, financial and military collapse is very possible.

Politicians have brought us to this point and will keep us there until we demand honesty in Washington. The real people running the country are the Liberal Progressive Elites who are Rhinos and Dinos, reps and dems in name only, in order to be on the ballot for elections.

Both parties are really dead and don’t know it.  So there ought to be two honest parties the Progressives and the Constitutionalists and then we could be honest when we vote our choice and get people in office that will do what will help all the people in the country and not just the politicians and the very wealthy.

M J -- please. Stop. You're embarrassing yourself so much more than you know. But then again...if you don't know you're doing it, I guess you're good to go. By speaking to you that way I was trying to help you realize how many of us see what's really going on -- and no, I'm not talking exclusively about myself, nor about what you call "liberals" nor any other group beyond those who have the common sense to do their due diligence and research, FOLLOW THE MONEY and see where it leads...

Danny? I recommend professional psychological help. With all respect. Seriously.

Reading the posts put forth here by the conservatively leaning tea-baggers is enough to make one wonder if the word 'conservative' isn't interchangable with 'mentally ill' or maybe 'psychotic',

You people have been sipping your idiological Kool-Aid from the corrupt, corrosive, fascist GOP goblet for so long that the poison has loosened your grip on reality!

Think about it, anyone who idolizes Donald Trump and Karl Rove as the purveyors of truth has to be emotionally unhinged!

@ Mary Heartman

The Huffington Post is a credible news source unlike ANYTHING Rupert Murdock prints or produces.

Faux News is not considered real NEWS.

I am not going to spend my DAY looking for something that doesn't exist. What has OBAMA done that is affecting us here in the Verde Valley?

I owned THREE businesses . . . was not just a bookkeeper and healthcare does not increase costs BECAUSE the EMPLOYEE pays for it, not the EMPLOYER.

Here is an education . . . WALMART does not pay for its employee's healthcare, they NEVER have. They only offer healthcare to employees who are FULL TIME, so Walmart keeps all their employees part time so that they do not have to OFFER it to them. The employees pay ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of their healthcare costs.

Now splain that one Lucy . . .

Read this article SLOWLY so that you can comprehend it FULLY, it is not from HP.

You go right on ahead believing those adolescent and absurd stereotypes! Those of us who understand the true issues that lie at the core of all we're enduring in society will keep doing all we can to bring you out of your ignorance. But I doubt it will help. You have way too much investment in believing them.

And Mary Heartman -- you make even less sense than Danny here.

@ You Must Be Joking

And so must you--unless you can provide proof Barrack Obama is really a closet Libertarian.

@ Carl Nye

Good call. The Executive Branch of the U.S. Federal Government shouldn't be requiring, much less approving applications for any kind of private enterprise, should it?

@ Gaia Gurl

Well, citing the opinion of a small business bookkeeper, in a depressed economy, anything that increases the cost of employing personnel is a job killer. Hillary/Chafee/Romney/Pelosicare certainly increases the cost of employing personnel. And after all, you're the Gurl who keeps yelling about Walmart's hiring employees part-time to avoid providing mandated benefits.

However, I do agree one shouldn't sling facts without being able to back them up. Can you, without CITING the Huffington Post, document your claim Federal policies have no effect in the Verde Valley?

Conservative always want to do what is right and just, within the confines of the law...while liberals and their insidious parastic ilk, slather and froth at the mouth in murderous glee over babies slaughtered in the womb and sodomy seems to be their calling card.

Oh YEAH, let's all read the Wall Street Journal and accept everything THEY have to say as FACT.

You need to LOOK at your sources and find out who is feeding you such PROPAGANDA!

Rupert Murdoch, who owns WSJ would not know a fact if it shot him in the face. You might as well QUOTE Faux News.

Please CITE how Obamacare is a JOB killer? From a NON News Corp reference.

Just the FACT that you seem to think that OBAMA has anything to do with our situation in the Verde Valley shows how IGNORANT of the FACTS you are . . .

What do you think Jan Brewer is doing for us?

Keeping the SETTLEMENT forclosure funds given to our state instead of helping illegally forclosed on former homeowners? YES

Giving tax breaks to BIG BUSINESS, yet doing nothing for SMALL business? YES

Helping our unemployment situation? NO

No SHEEPLE here . . .

From my decades-ago civics class I remember that the President has the authority to sign bills passed by Congress into law (or veto them) but I don't remember any law that gives the President the authority to approve applications for companies to build LNG distribution centers. Please enlighten me where I can find such authority written down.

Or are you just trying to blame the President because some lower level bureaucrat has not done his job?

The two parties are not the "Progressives" and the "Constitutionalists," Bob. That's such an insult to any thinking person's intelligence! As if progressive mentality is against the rights our Constitution give us! LOL!

A clearer description of the two "parties" (though I wouldn't put it that way) would be something like: Those who are willing to sell their souls and everyone's human rights to the global corporatocracy and who literally lobby FOR their interests -- and those who resist cooperating with it, with everything they have, sometimes to no avail. Mr. Obama would fall in the latter category. The republicans/conservatives are those whose value systems are shallow enough to either not investigate the actual existence of this corporatocracy, or who actually believe themselves that those with the most money "win" something. LOL Some democrats are republicans in disguise, and some seriously ARE doing their best to break this tyranny that's been in place for a very, very long time.

Only thing Dale hit by writing what he did was himself, his own head, not a nail's.
