
Sales tax collections for September show that Sedona is up from last year, and Camp Verde, Cottonwood and Clarkdale are all three down. Jerome is holding steady but slightly ahead of September last year.
The sales tax figures are released monthly by the Arizona Department of Revenue.
Sedona collected $1,137,149 in total sales tax and $259,153 in retail sales. Sedona's total for the first three months of the fiscal year is $3,621,121.
Slightly ahead of last year's September figures is Jerome with $34,515 in total sales tax, up from $33,587 for the same month last year. Jerome's retail tax collections for September were $14,559. The mountain town's total for the first quarter is $114,697.
Camp Verde dropped from $286,609 in total sales tax revenues in 06 to $184,745 this year. The town's retail sales tax revenue was $63,202 for September. The total sales tax collections for July through September was $570,285.
Cottonwood saw a drop in overall sales tax collections for September 07 to $805,727 from $839,642 in 06. But Cottonwood's September figures are $100,000 ahead of the same month in 05. Retail sales tax revenue for the month was $507,837. Cottonwood has collected $2,494,777 in total sales tax revenues for the first three months of the 07/08 fiscal year.
Clarkdale with $76,892 in total sales tax collections for September is behind for the same month in 06 but ahead of 05. Clarkdale brought in $8,084 in retail sales tax. The town's three-month total for the fiscal year in overall sales tax revenue is $264,217.
